Prospective Students
Welcome to the student advising page for prospective students of the College of Science. We appreciate your interest in the College and will certainly make every effort to make sure your experience here at Tech is a great one. Below is a wealth of information that may be of interest to you as a perspective student, including orientation information, transfer credit, and departmental information. If there is something in particular that you are looking for and can't find it, feel free to contact our department directly via the information provided on the right-hand side of the page.
We offer information sessions on most Friday's through out the semester. However, between March 25 and April 5 we will offer expanded sessions to accommodate high school students on spring break. These sessions are designed to give parents and students a brief overview of the college and the departments.

International Baccalaureate Credit
Credit is awarded based on earning a certificate or a diploma.
IB Diploma
- A maximum of 38 hours may be awarded.
- Credit is awarded for Higher Level (HL) courses based on minimum scores shown in the HL Credit Table.
- Credit is awarded for only one Subsidiary Level (SL) course based on a minimum score of 6.
- Additional Credits can be received for
- Theory of Knowledge with a grade of "C" or higher
- Extended Essay with a grade of C or higher.
IB Certificate
- A maximum of 30 hours may be awarded.
- Credit is awarded for Higher Level (HL) courses based on minimum scores shown in the HL Credit Table.
- No credit is awarded for Subsidiary Level (SL) courses.
- No Credits can be received for
- Theory of Knowledge
- Extended Essay
