The College of Science at Virginia Tech, in support of the university’s strategic plan, is expanding its research presence in: Energy and the Environment, Infectious Diseases, Nanoscience, Neuroscience, and Visualization & Pattern Recognition. Faculty members will be recruited across several colleges to promote research efforts in these areas. Subject to budgetary approval, we intend to recruit new faculty in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geoscience, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology and Statistics to start in the Fall of 2013, at our Blacksburg, VA campus.
The successful candidates will be expected to establish a vigorous research program, teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, continue development of scholarly activities and professional capabilities, participate in department, college, and university governance, and pass a criminal background check. Occasional travel to attend professional conferences is required.
