The College of Science Diversity Committee selected Susan Anderson from the Department of Mathematics for the COS Diversity Award for 2013-2014.
The reasons for Susan’s selection were numerous. Her long-term commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the College, the University, and the broader community is outstanding. The committee was incredibly impressed with her work as faculty advisor for Womanspace and for organizing events, such as Take Back the Night, as well as her leadership on campus for promoting gender equality. We also recognize her work on Blacksburg Town Council to support both students and residents of diverse socioeconomic status.
